The 3" trailing point blade is handmade from D2 tool steel — an air hardening, high carbon, high chromium tool steel heat treated by Silver Stag to 62 Rockwell hardness, producing a blade with extreme wear resistance and outstanding edge retention that holds up through extended field use. The trailing point geometry is specifically optimized for game processing — the upswept tip and curved belly work together to provide exceptional control for skinning, boning, and the detailed field work where precision matters most. At 0.139" blade thickness this is a knife built to handle serious work without flexing or twisting. Note that a light coat of oil after use keeps the D2 blade in peak condition.

The genuine North American antler slab handle is individually cut, polished, and pinned through the full tang blade by Silver Stag craftsmen. Because antler is a natural material, no two handles are ever identical — the color, texture, grain pattern, and natural character of your Backwoods Pro will be unique to you.
