Hard to Find — Chris Reeve Small Sebenza 31 | Black Canvas Micarta Inlay | S31-1200

Previously Owned · Mint Condition · CPM MagnaCut

The Chris Reeve Small Sebenza 31 in Black Canvas Micarta (S31-1200) is not a knife you stumble across every day — and finding one in mint condition on the secondary market is rarer still. With the CPM MagnaCut variant now sold out across most authorized dealers nationwide, this is a genuine opportunity for the serious collector or discerning everyday carrier who doesn't want to wait.

This example is previously owned and presents in mint condition — no blade wear, no handle marks, no clip rash. It carries the fit, finish, and action you'd expect from a knife that left the CRK shop in Boise, Idaho. Chris Reeve builds these in small batches with handcrafted care, and when they're gone from the retail channel, the secondary market is the only option.

The Sebenza has been the benchmark of American folding knife excellence for over three decades. The "31" is the finest iteration yet — and the Black Canvas Micarta inlay edition adds warmth, grip, and quiet visual distinction that sets it apart from the already-exceptional plain titanium model.

The Blade

A 2.99-inch drop point in CPM MagnaCut — among the most advanced production knife steels available today. Hollow ground and finished in a scratch-hiding stonewash, hardened to 63–64 HRC for exceptional edge retention, superior toughness, and corrosion resistance that outclasses S45VN, S35VN, and most steels at any price. A notched thumb rest and single thumb stud deliver confident, positive one-hand deployment every time.

The Handle

4.8 inches of 6Al4V aerospace-grade titanium, sandblasted to a clean matte finish and fitted with Black Canvas Micarta inlays precision-set into milled pockets and bonded with VHB (Very High Bonding) adhesive. The Micarta adds real tactile grip and a hand-filling confidence that plain titanium simply can't match — particularly in wet or demanding conditions. A coordinating thumb lug and lanyard tie post complement the inlay perfectly. The offset titanium pocket clip rides at the butt end for tip-up carry with virtually zero blade reveal.

The Lock

The Reeve Integral Lock — the original framelock, invented by Chris Reeve, still done better here than anywhere else. The Sebenza 31 adds a Ceramic Ball Interface between the lockbar and blade tang, delivering lockup that doesn't just hold — it improves with use rather than wearing in. Zero blade play in any direction. The same confident bank-vault click it's been famous for since 1987, now at its most refined.

A Note on Condition

This knife is previously owned and presents in mint condition. Collectors and CRK enthusiasts will appreciate that the Sebenza's stonewashed blade and sandblasted titanium handle are among the most forgiving finishes in the industry — they wear gracefully and maintain their appearance far better than polished or satin alternatives. This example shows none of the typical signs of carry or use.
